Antigua Adventure: Beaches, Bites, and Vibes - A Flwd Humn Travel Tale

Humns! Kevin here, and I'm excited to share the ups, downs, and unforgettable moments from my recent escapade to the mesmerizing shores of Antigua. Picture this: pristine beaches, delectable bites, vibes and a beach for everyday of the year. Buckle up and join me on this wild ride!

Let's kick things off with a dose of reality - my luggage took an unexpected detour thanks to Air Canada's stellar service (cue the sarcasm). But hey, the show must go on! Despite being clothes-less for four days, we powered through and captured the essence of Antigua for this very blog. So, without further ado, let's dive into the highlights, lowlights, and everything in between!

Highlight video

Where to Stay: Our home base in Antigua was none other than St. John's Runaway Bay, a mere stone's throw from the beach. We opted for the cozy confines of Antigua Village "A Condominium Beach Resort," boasting a pool and just a 60-second saunter to the sandy shores. Sure, it wasn't the fanciest digs in town, but it got the job done. Plus, with the Royalton Hotel a mere five minutes away, you're never far from a touch of luxury.

Where to Eat: Antigua's culinary scene is a feast for the senses, though it may burn a hole in your pocket. Ana's On the Beach and Salt Life Tours Beach Bar served up some solid grub, while Ffryes Beach Bar stole the show with its beachfront charm and friendly staff. As for Big Head Lobster Seafood Restaurant, it didn't quite hit the mark for me, but hey, to each their own. And then there's Sheer Rocks - a slice of paradise perched atop a rock, offering up killer views and even better vibes. And last but not least, Cecilia's - a culinary oasis with Hank Moody-approved ambiance and top-notch fare.

Beaches: From the bustling shores of Dickenson Bay to the serene Half Moon Bay, Antigua boasts a beach for every vibe. Ffryes Beach is perfect for the whole family, while Deep Bay Beach offers a tranquil escape (just watch out for those potholes en route!).

Overall: Whether you're soaking in the sights from Shirley Heights or kicking back with a cocktail at a local hotspot, Antigua has something for everyone. Be sure to embrace island time, hit up a block party or two, and savor every moment of this Caribbean gem.

And there you have it - my whirlwind adventure in Antigua, complete with highs, lows, and plenty of Hank Moody vibes. Stay tuned for the next chapter in our Flwd Humn travel saga - Aruba awaits!
